Philosophy and Care Practice

Our philosophy and care practice are based on putting the individual at the centre of their care and support, working with the person to achieve their outcomes. Our practices lead to a friendly and caring service where service users are listened to and feel valued, their rights are upheld, their cultural and religious beliefs are respected and receiving a service is a positive and beneficial experience.

To achieve this, our staff are trained to uphold our outstanding values bedded in our practice. These include:

DIGNITY AND RESPECT:

The uniqueness and intrinsic value of our service users are acknowledged, and each person is treated with respect. We also work towards promoting the rights, and interests of our clients and carers. In delivering domiciliary care services to our clients, our staff must respect clients’ homes and belongings. This includes:

  1. Keeping to agreed ways of entering, leaving and securing the property.
  2.  Knowing what to do if you can’t enter an individual’s home as planned.
  3.  Reporting difficulties and helping to agree ways to improve arrangements.
  4. Carrying and showing identification for your role.
  5. Having respect for the individual’s privacy and personal space.

INDEPENDENCE:

Our service users have as much control as possible over their lives whilst being protected against unreasonable risks. Towards this end, we have open and transparent arrangements for all our services and provide all relevant information in suitable formats. Individual agreements clarify what is expected for each service user. We ensure that our domiciliary carers are able and qualified to provide suitable care for service users referred to us.

RIGHTS:

Service users’ individual and human rights are safeguarded and actively promoted within the context of services delivered by the agency.

EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY:

Our service users are treated equally, and their backgrounds and cultures are valued. The services provided fit within a framework of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.

CHOICE:

Our service users are offered, wherever possible, the opportunity to select independently from a range of options based on clear and accurate information.

CONSENT:

Our service users have a legal right to determine what happens to them and their informed, genuine, and valid consent to the care and support they receive is essential.

CONFIDENTIALITY:

Our service users know that information about them is managed appropriately, and everyone involved in Neumathology Care Initiatives respects confidential matters, act with integrity, and uphold public trust.

SAFETY AND SECURITY:

Our service users feel as safe as is possible, in all aspects of their care and life, and are free from exploitation, neglect and abuse.

These values are integrated into all aspects of our planning and service delivery. We review and we target the optimum standards that make us a resource and leading provider that delivers the best possible outcomes for service users.
